The other change for the 1984-85 season dealt with the jersey numbers on the sleeves. Prior to this season, many numbers had filled in black portions. You can see below how Murray Craven's "3" and "2" had black portions inside the curves in the numbers. Compare that to Bob Froese's numbers during the 84-85 season, where these black portions were absent.
