On May 12, 1977, former Flyer player and assistant coach, Barry Ashbee, passed away from leukemia. To honour him, the Flyers wore Ashbee's number 4 in a white circle on their left shoulder. Below is Wayne Stephenson with that number 4 on his home jersey.
